Sick day

It is rare that I take a sick day.

Today, however, was one of those days. I woke up feeling bad with a slight fever. I was somewhat achy all over and just felt kinda of blah.

I got out of bed and sent an email to the boss man, my co-worker and the CTO in case anyone was wondering where I was. I figured on calling later when it was more likely to find someone alive. It was, after all, before the sun came up when I sent the email.

I slept for some time and then woke up in drenched in sweat. My fever had broken, I suppose. I tossed down two more Tylenol and decided to go downstairs for some crackers to get some food in me and some Gatorade to put back the fluids I had lost.

After eating a little something and drinking some Gatorade, I felt a little better and grabbed a quick shower. That cool water really made me feel better. The rest of the day I just took it easy. Things seemed to be under control at work, as the noise ratio in email was quite low.

The bad part about taking sick days is getting back to work and trying to catch up. Next week will be especially challenging since the bossman will be away on vacation and my co-worker will be moving to his new apartment downtown.
