After last week's fiasco at Pizza Hut and yesterday's sad lunch from Clayton's, I was looking forward to a good meal after a long day. We chose to go to Vetoni's.
We arrived at Vetoni's and were seated promptly. The waitress took out drink order, but they were out of iced coffee, even though it was on the menu board when we walked in.
After a few times, Kathy was able to get them to bring her a fresh cup of coffee, a tall glass of ice and a shot of milk. She made her own version of iced coffee.
We ordered and Victor, the owner, (I think that is his name) came over to see how we were doing. He seemed surprised at the iced coffee concoction and said he had tried a 'bag' of it recently and hadn't ordered any more, but several people had asked about it.
Kathy explained all he needed to do was offer his existing coffee with a shot of milk, some ice and maybe a shot of expresso and he would be just fine. He shrugged, saying he would think about that.
We ordered and the food arrived in a timely manner. It was way more food than we needed. Kathy, of course, ordered spaghetti with meat sauce while I opted for the pasta sampler (manicotti, lasagna and ravioli). I am not a ravenous fan of Italian food, I prefer burgers and Tex-Mex, but I enjoy the food at Vetoni's, especially with the pink sauce they have.
After a nice quiet dinner, I drove back to the office to finish some work up and Kathy headed home to let the dog out of the prison camp.
