Vacation Day: Monday

I woke up around 9 am, looked at the thermometer, and saw it was already 86°F outside. Another hot one in store for us.

During the dog days of summer, I usually just hang out in the air conditioning until late in the way. I had a few tasks to get done, so I took a nice cool shower and then we went in to town.

I stopped by the courthouse about noon to get the Jeep tags renewed. I saw my friend Chris' wife, but she was busy with another customer, so another nice lady assisted us. We left there and drove over to the local cable company to place an ad on the local cable channel "2". I figure it might generate some additional customers.

We stopped by Burgers and Billiards and grabbed a mini-burger and rings and then drove by the office to water the plants Kathy had planted outside in the new planters.

I had called a couple of contractors to get a quote on the bathroom remodel I wanted to do. One of them could be by today, and the other would be by next Saturday.

I pulled out the power washer to try and knock down some of the spider webs on the lake house. Of course, I get it all pulled out and hooked up only to find a small piece of metal had broken off the sprayer, making it useless. I used the garden hose and knocked some of them down and trimmed up some weeds with the weedeater before the first contractor arrived for the quote.

They came in, measured everything and took my wish list down. It looks like a fairly easy job, but I will find out when I get the quote back, I guess.

By this time it was late in the day and I wanted to get back to go to Home Depot and Fry's tomorrow to pick up some things. We stopped by the shop to button everything up and then headed home.

I got home and stayed up all night updating my MAME collection, compiling the newest version and using ClrMAME to fix up the missing sets. I don't get to do this (stay up late) often (work and all).
